For the first time in what feels like forever, We're looking for a Barista to join the team at EH9.

We're after someone with experience in speciality coffee or home brewing, but more importantly, someone who enjoys working with people. EH9 has just turned five years old, and we’re super proud of the community that we’ve built around the shop. We want someone who feels comfortable contributing to that vibe.

The coffee matters to us, obviously. We care about quality, consistency and learning, and we're always trying to improve what we do, but we’re also very good trainers and any new starts, should feel empowered to take on the skills that they need.

We're looking for someone who enjoys a conversation as much as they enjoy making a great flat white. Someone who's happy recommending a new coffee, welcoming a regular by name, or helping a first-time visitor find something they'll enjoy.

You'll be joining a small team where everyone mucks in, every day is different. We value people who are reliable, curious, calm under pressure and have personality – people don’t feel the need to hide this from us throughout the hiring process.

It will help your application if you've worked with espresso, know your way around dialling in, or have a genuine interest in learning more about coffee. If you can make shapes with milk (latte art) please include some pictures in your application.

The role is on a flexible-hours contract, with shifts available across weekdays and weekends.

Ideally we are looking to fill about 20 hours of vacancy each week – but if you can’t make yourself available for all of those, don’t worry, there will be others in your position looking to jump on board!
